Les Fabuleux

This installation, conceived as a game, was born from the desire of Valérie Potvin to revitalize her sculptures by creating kinetic objects that seem to challenge the zero gravity conditions. With Les fabuleux, the artist dip us into a work both oneiric and disturbing, humorous and threatening to better confront us to the relationship between the human being, his fellow beings and his environment. The sculptures ‘s scenography, like a freeze frame, leaves to the spectator the freedom to imagine the story and the interpretation that go with it. A pure aesthetical experience that, paradoxically, produces a disturbing truth.

Valérie Potvin lives and works in Québec. She primarily works in the areas of sculpture and installation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in visual arts from Université Laval and received four awards in 2008 for the quality of her work. In 2010, the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec offered her its support.
